Lazy Sunday... So Here's Some Movies I Wanna See

I think the title pretty much says it all. I spent the majority of my Saturday evening shoveling the 3-foot drifts of snow away from my porch and driveway, so I'm just phoning it in right now. Here are some trailers of some movies I wanna see.

"Big Ass Spider"
I love the look and feel of this one. It's not 8-Legged Freaks stupid looking, but it's definitely tongue-in-cheek without pulling punches either. There's wit and genuine giant-spider horror going on here at the same time. Hope it's a wild ride. UPDATE: I posted a video of a scorpion fighting a big ass spider. I don't know how that happened, but I think I have the problem fixed for anyone discovering this post later on in the future.

"Motivational Growth"
This just looks insane. I mean, there's a talking pile of foul looking mold... and someone obviously having some sort of existential crisis, and then reality blends with whatever messed up crap is going on here and... well I just want to be a part of whatever this is going to end up being.

"Wrong"
We're just going to go ahead and turn the weird right up to 11. This is from the same guy who did the movuie "Rubber" which I loved and hated simultaneously... and I think that was the intended effect honestly.

"Byzantium"
This... is another vampire story. But it looks good, and is heavy on the historical fiction aspects. It looks beautifully done, so I'm going to give it a chance.

"Silver Linings Playlist"
If all actually goes according to plan, I will be seeing this film in theater on Valentine's day. It looks incredible. I love the cast, I love the pacing of the banter, the awkwardness of the dialogue, and the way the cast appears to have completely lost itself in the story. I hope this movie deserves the hype.

!!!!WARNING RED BAND TRAILER!!!!

"The ABCs of Death"
This anthology of different grisly ends based around the letters of the Alphabet is amazing because it is what is. That is all.

"S-VHS"
The sequel to one of the best anthology horror movies/found footage movies I've ever seen? Still looking crazy as anything? I'm on board.

In other news, Toy Fair 2013 is going on this weekend. I'm not even going to pretend that this blog is a news site... but I'm excited about some of the new TMNT toys coming out. I found this Imgur gallery of TMNT figures that are coming up... and I have to say I'm going to need a bunch of these. Leatherhead and Rat King to name just two are going to be must-haves (though the fact that Leatherhead's jaw is not hinged is a HUGE missed opportunity IMO) I'm probably going to want Baxter Stockman and Snakeweed too (though the fact that Stockman looks like he's sleepwalking doesn't help his appeal). I'm probably going to need to go out and track down Splinter, a Foot Soldier, April, and Dogpound too... just so they don't feel left out.

I'll be back soon with more Goodwill Goodies! Until then, Happy Hunting!

  1. Dude...Motivational Growth looks fucking batshit. Thanks for introducing me to that one, I definitely want to see it now. The rest of these are all on my radar too, along with Stoker.

I should be seeing Silver Linings Playbook this week too, but probably the day after V-day. You might even call it a date. ;-)
